So here comes the highlight of this visit, which is food we’ve ordered (duh)! For drinks, I’ve ordered Momo, which is a glass of Fuku’s lemonade with Yuzu, peach and chrysanthemum. Perfect for those who don’t fancy caffeine or purely want something to quench the thirst. Whilst, my madre ordered her a cup of hot latte.

For food, my madre ordered a bowl of Teriyaki Chicken Don which is a bowl of plain rice served with teriyaki glazed and grilled chicken, some steamed corns as well as edamame. And tbh, I could tell that the ingredients they used are pretty fresh as the chicken itself doesn’t has any unpleasant smell (which is a relief as the unpleasant smell is always a huge turnoff for me whenever I ordered teriyaki chicken don)!

My sister ordered her all time favourite, Chicken Katsu. Whilst, I ordered my longtime craving Omu Curry Rice with Tori Karaage. And I’m definitely obsessed with the chicken fillet and fried chicken which served alongside the rice!

Frog Hill Gua Perahu – Prepare to be Mesmerized by Its Beauty

wendy quah blogger froghill gua perahu gua petai tasik gelugor malaysia

I’ve been wanting to visit Frog Hill for quite awhile and finally I managed to pay a visit there last Saturday. I swear I adore every corner of Frog Hill landscape and thinking of going back for the second time!

Frog Hill which is also known as Gua Perahu or Gua Petai is an abandoned quarry which located in Tasek Gelugor, Bukit Mertajam. It is largely flat and surrounded by rice fields, clumps of trees and houses. You can even spot the trains pass by (every 15-20 minutes I guess) as the railway is just few kilometers beside the Frog Hill.

Although Frog Hill is secluded from the public eye, it has already gained so many praises thanks to the power of social media! Keep reading and you’ll find out how scenic is this place.

We departed around 6 but only manage to reach Frog Hill around 7.20a.m (you know sometimes choosing the wrong directory map will ended you up in nowhere, luckily we realised it early enough, so make sure you follow this -> location). When we arrived, we are absolutely lucky to catch this breathtaking sunrise. I’m more a sunset person but I’ve to admit this is by far the most beautiful sunrise I’ve come across. I remembered how huge the sun was when it started to peek over the horizon. And listen to the sound of the train passed by, suddenly everything turned into a movie or music video scene. (Which I instantly think of BTS – Spring Day).

After a short drive on the red laterite road, you will need to take a 15 minutes hike up to the 50m high cliff in order to have a panoramic view. Make sure you wear comfy clothes and a pair of sneakers will come in handy! Be extra careful if the day before you visit rain as the path might get slippery.

The scenery already swept me off my feet even though we do not reach the top yet. With the crystal clear blue water surrounded by red cliffs, many said that Frog Hill looks like China 九寨溝, but I’ve never been there so I’m not sure how similar it is but I can promise this place is heavenly gorgeous! Just look at those reflections!

And after the climb, look how scenic is this place! The turquoise blue lake seriously makes my jaw drop! For those who wants to take photograph, this is definitely the ultimate spot! P.S It took me quite some courage to sit at this spot tho, but for the sake of photos, oh well~ I’m in! Keep scrolling to check out those photos!

And here come’s my favourite shot! A picture of me and my sister, Celine.

So here we go, bringing dab to a whole new level. The guys below might be thinking what the hell are the two girls doing up there.

Make sure you walk around to discover the surroundings. Somehow the reddish landscape reminds me of Lahbab desert in Dubai tho.

Notes:
1) Be mentally prepared, and don’t be shocked and wonder if you’re lost as this place is really rural. As long as you follow the location I tagged, you’re good!
2) Try to visit here in pairs or more as it can be quite dangerous since there’re no any residents around.
3) You will have to wash your car due to the red laterite road and perhaps some mud.
4) Make sure you wear comfy outfits and sneakers! Unless you’re going for some fashion photoshoot (but still bring sneakers along).
