So here comes the highlight of this visit, which is food we’ve ordered (duh)! For drinks, I’ve ordered Momo, which is a glass of Fuku’s lemonade with Yuzu, peach and chrysanthemum. Perfect for those who don’t fancy caffeine or purely want something to quench the thirst. Whilst, my madre ordered her a cup of hot latte.

For food, my madre ordered a bowl of Teriyaki Chicken Don which is a bowl of plain rice served with teriyaki glazed and grilled chicken, some steamed corns as well as edamame. And tbh, I could tell that the ingredients they used are pretty fresh as the chicken itself doesn’t has any unpleasant smell (which is a relief as the unpleasant smell is always a huge turnoff for me whenever I ordered teriyaki chicken don)!

Pidapipo, The Best Gelato Shop You Need to Visit in Melbourne

Pidapipo-The-Best-Gelato-Shop-You-Need-to-Visit-in-Melbourne

If you have a sweet tooth like me and crave for the authentic Gelato while you’re in Melbourne, don’t you dare to miss out Pidapipo! The trained chef, Lisa Valmorbida has travelled to Italy and studied at the Capigiani Gelato University, before returning to Melbourne to open up her own gelateria.

For those who don’t know what gelato is, it is Italy’s lighter version of ice-cream – milk, cream, sugar and eggs (not always, though), typically flavoured with nuts, pastes or fruits. What sets gelato apart from ice-cream is a lower butterfat content thanks to a milk-to-cream bias, and a denser, more elastic texture resulting from a slower churn and a warmer serving temperature.

The one we went to is located at Lygon Street, which can be easily accessed by tramp. From far away you could spot the Neon sign, saying Pidapipo. And if you visit during the peak time, the long queue is the easiest sign to locate this gelato shop.

pidapipo-lygon-street-melbourne-victoria-australia

You could either dine in or take away your gelato. We chose to dine in and sit at the window seat and enjoy watching the passerby. I was totally impressed by the interior design of this gelato space. With the marble counter and gold accent lamps, every corner is so aesthetic pleasing.

While waiting for your turn, you should definitely start to decide what flavour to get. To be honest, I got a huge dilemma in choosing as you can see the menu is literally endless!

On our first visit, I ordered Nutella Swirl with additional Nutella topping and pistachio. And baaam need to say more, both are absolutely delicious. I love how rich they are. While, my friend ordered a passion fruit gelato with a raspberry swirl. If you want something refreshing and sour, these two flavours will complement your tastebuds.

You know how good is their gelato when we stop by again on the next day. On the second day, I ordered Pistachio again, but I picked a new flavour, which is Strawberry Rose and Cream. If you love the smell of rose, you will definitely love this. This time my friend also ordered a Pistachio and a new flavour, Pineapple.

You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy gelato, and that’s kind of the same thing.

Lastly, we had Japanese strawberry as our last dish. I got to said this is by far the most expensive Japanese strawberry I had in my life, as this small plate costs RM32. I would probably not going to order this the next round.

Afternoon Tea at Ladurée Chadstone

Ladurée-macarons-hot-chocolate-mocha

I always wonder why I have already come across Ladurée so many times when I was in the U.K and Europe but I never have the urge to try them. I do not intend to try this in Melbourne either but my friend, Cassie and I think why not?! So, we decided to take a break from our shopping at Chadstone and enjoy some sweet tooth. FYI Ladurée actually make all of their macarons in Paris and then ship them over.
laduree-chadstone-melbourne-australia
The storefront at Chadstone is not big but I love how it is nested in the centre of a dome structure that’s double storey tall, allowing us to enjoy looking at passerby while sipping our coffee and biting our macarons. Not to mention, the design of the store is very modern and sophisticated with its wooden, marble and gold accents.
laduree-macarons-vanilla-pisachio-salted-caramel-rose-chadstone
We’ve ordered a total of 4 macrons. They are Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Rose, and Pistachio. To be honest, I have pretty high expectation when comes to their macarons but I still prefer Paul’s macaron tho as they have more creamy filling. You can really taste it when biting into a macaron. However, if I really have to pick among these 4, my favourite will definitely will be Vanilla.
lauduree-chadstone-hot-chocolate-mocha
Cassie also ordered a cup of hot mocha. I love how they serve it in a glass instead of cup tho, making it looks so aesthetic and unique. And, the highlight of my Ladurée experience is definitely the  Hot Chocolate aka Chocolate Chaud. It is served with a cup of hot chocolate and a cup of steam milk. You will need to pour it to your own cup and by stirring it on low heat, you will have the perfect rich and creamy hot chocolate. Like Spanish hot chocolate, it is strong and very rich and will definitely fill you up for hours.
A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles
