Off-shoulder, one shoulder, or cold shoulder, I’m totally lusting over them and seriously hoping they will stick around! Not only they give off that subtle sexy vibe by showing off some skin without bearing it all, they are also the perfect pieces to look put together effortlessly.
PFW 17 is the first fashion week which I have attended in my entire life. Have to thank Miss Selfridge, Warehouse and Dorothy Perkins for giving my sister, Kim and me the opportunity to take a look on what a fashion show looks like.
Last Saturday, which is the 1st of April, my sister (Celine) and I finally went to our first Coldplay’s (A Head Full of Dream) concert in Singapore! It was seriously one of the best time of my life. Until today, everything still felt so surreal and magical! I have to admit I’m still having the “Coldplay hangover”!
Neutral which is also known as “earth tones” has always been my all time favourite. Not only it gives you the endless versatility it also creates that clean and minimal look. So, when you are running out of colour ideas, reach for white, black, grey, denim, or beige.
5 Reasons You Should Invest In Neutral Shade Pieces
- Everything matches! There’s no need a single worry of the colour pairing will look odd as neutral shades complement each other very well!
- You can channel bold statement pieces. Neutral shades give you the opportunity to pay attention to different cuts, details and also bold statement pieces.
- Re-wear it like there’s no tomorrow and nobody will even realise! When you invest in neutral shade pieces, you get the endless versatility to create different looks just by pairing it with different items. For instance, a white tee and a pair of jeans = causal look (Monday); a white tee and a leather skirt = edgy vibe (Tuesday); a white tee and a slip dress = fancy a.m to p.m look (Wednesday)! See one white top gives you so many looks!
- Neutral hue pieces are the foundation of your wardrobe! I bet you’ve heard this statement a lot “I have nothing to wear”. This is simply because you have no neutral pieces to build your wardrobe!
- Spend less time getting ready because you know the fit is perfect and the colors will match!
Today’s look is all about elegant and sophisticated. For top, I wore my all time favourite, H&M ruffled chiffon long flared sleeved blouse. The ruffle and flared sleeves instantly create a beautiful movement to this look and inject a romantic accent. Then, I pair it with Uniqlo’s beige midi skirt. For shoes, I wore a pair of blush pointed toe flats from Charles and Keith. Lastly, I finished off my look with a blush bucket bag from Hieleven.

When we think of floral print, instantly we think of Spring. Cuz what else can be more perfect than floral patterns to associate our outfits with the Cherry Blossom season?
But now, floral prints can be worn for any season, depending on the colors, fabric and print you pick! You’ve probably noticed that one of the massive trend in A/W 16 is floral prints. So, you can now literally don your favourite floral pieces 24/7 and nobody is gonna judge you!
When it comes to buying clothes, yes I do love trendy pieces but I love to invest in clothes with versatility even more. This shows why I picked this black floral dress as the colour and length gives me the ease to cruise into any occasion and season effortlessly. All I have to do is jazz up with different accessories.
I bought this maxi last December during a Zara sales and I got to say I get a great deal for such an amazing quality! This maxi dress which crafted with super lightweight and airy fabric is great for the scorching hot weather and also a perfect piece for layering during the cosy season. it comes with two layers. The inner layer is a simple scoop neck spaghetti short bodycon dress. While the outer-layer which crafted with sheer chiffon is shaped in a form of ruffle neck, sleeveless bodice, and a billowy high low maxi skirt with some ruffle hem. Oh dear, ruffle my weakness how can I not purchase this frock! (if you’ve come across my previous posts, you’ll know how much I’m obsessed with them!)
Not to forget the highlight of this dress is the beautiful roses that dancing all over the black backdrop, instantly injects whimsical and romantic accents!
Another thing I’m totally vibin’ over this frock is the sheer chiffon that shows off my legs without really bearing it all. Creates that peekaboo style and make my legs look slender tho.
For this look, instead of being dressy from head to toe. I teamed it with my crisp white Adidas Super Star instead of heels. I then finished off this look with a pink mini chain crossbody.

Fashion is What You Buy. Style is What You Do With It
I used to be the girl who extremely afraid of wearing colors especially those refulgent ones. Afraid of the bright colors might not complement my skin tone and make me look extremely odd. But, after some experiments, I started to embrace colors. As long as you team it with the right color, BAAAM you’ll look great! Recently, I’ve been obsessed with the color combo of mustard yellow and black as it gives off the Spring/ Summer vibe. Besides, yellow is seriously a happy color that instantly enliven your day!
Mustard yellow has been making its entrance to the runways since last Fall and it continues to dominate the Spring/ Summer runways as Yellow is one of the on-trend colors in 2017. Ranging from bright lemon yellow to mustard, you are sure to find the perfect shades that look good on you!
For this look, I wore a mustard yellow ruffle long sleeve top. Since the top is quite sheer, I wore a cami top underneath. Then, I team this top with my trustworthy pair of black mom jeans. To add a splash of edge, I added a black leather statement belt featuring studded detailing. I finished off this look with a pair of black mules and carry a burgundy shoulder bag.

“Style is a deeply personal expression of who you are, and every time you dress, you are asserting a part of yourself”
Ruffles were having a BIG moment in 2016 and the game is still going strong this season, which I am absolutely thankful for as I’m definitely the “rufflemaniac” who just couldn’t get enough of ruffles.
If you have come across fashion weeks, or trend reports you probably notice that it is difficult for us to find a fashion runway that didn’t feature a little bit of flounce. So, if you’re still hesitate whether you should get your hands on, you should definitely give it a try!
Last year, ruffles were widely to be seen on dresses or chiffon blouse, but this season they were presented in unusual fabrications such as sweaters, leather skirts, or even the on the classic button down shirt.
Ruffles have the tendency to be feminine, romantic, and a little bit dressed up. For this look, I’ve decided to combine the eye-catching statement piece (ruffle button down shirt) with a basic (skinny jeans) to create that perfect balance. To inject a sense of edge, I wore a statement belt, and carried a chain crossbody.
The ruffle button shirt – I fell for this ruffle shirt at first sight and decided to purchase it for my graduation. This white button down shirt is versatile as you can easily dress it up and down depending on the occasion. And thanks to its ruffles and small cutout detailing on the back, this elevated button down shirt is definitely an eye-catcher and balances between being basic but yet a statement piece.
